| As our society evolves, the need to have a safe living environment has increased. In order to elevate the quality of public safety, the Ministry of Interior officially established the Fire Department to promote “Prevention, Rescue, and Emergency First Aid”. With the new Fire Prevention Law, Rescue Law, and Emergency Medical Service Law, Taichung City’s fire firefighting began a new chapter. |

With full support from the mayor and the city council, the establishment of Taichung City Fire Bureau on Jan. 17th 1999 marked a milestone in Taichung City’s firefighting history.
The focus of Taichung City’s Fire Bureau in the near future will be
· expanding the fire bureau
· developing a hierarchy for fire rescue mechanism
· educating and informing the public of fire safety
Fire rescue is the basic duty of all firefighting personnel. Whether it is fire prevention, fire rescue or emergency rescue, I would like to encourage all firefighters to do their best and achieve the goal of helping others in crisis.
